The Volkswagen Golf Alltrack has made its world public debut at the Paris Motor Show today.
Based on the Golf Variant, the rugged Alltrack has received a +20mm increased ride height and benefits from black plastic body cladding together with chunkier wheels and aluminum protection plates. Volkswagen is describing the model as being a crossover between an estate and an SUV as it brings the best of both worlds, practicality mixed up with a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system with Haldex coupling.
In terms of motorization, customers will be able to opt for a 1.8 TSI rated at 180 HP & 280 Nm along with three diesel engines: 1.6 TDI with 110 HP & 250 Nm, 2.0 TDI with 150 HP & 340 Nm and 2.0 TDI with 184 HP & 380 Nm.
The high-riding wagon also benefits from an electronic differential lock built into the ESC electronic stability control system and acts as a differential lock at both axles. There’s also an XDS system optimizing steering response by braking the wheels on the inside of a bend during fast-pace driving.
Volkswagen has previously announced deliveries of the Golf Alltrack are scheduled to begin next summer.
