2014 Volkswagen Golf Plus spied
Do you like this story?
Development work continues on the 2014 Volkswagen Golf Plus as our spies have caught the model undergoing testing in Germany.
Designed to appeal to growing families, the hatchback will be heavily based on the Golf VII and is expected to be significantly larger than its predecessor. Nothing is official but previous reports have indicated the model could 5cm longer, 15cm taller and ride on a wheelbase that has been stretched by approximately 6cm.
Regardless of the final dimensions, the Golf Plus is expected to be offered with a variety of familiar engines. Possible candidates include:
A 1.2-liter TSI with outputs of 85 HP (63 kW) and 105 HP (77 kW)
A 1.4-liter TSI with outputs of 122 HP (90 kW) and 140 HP (103 kW)
A 1.6-liter TDI with 105 PS (77 kW)
A 2.0-liter TDI with 150 PS (110 kW)
