On-board video with Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse WRC Edition

YouTube user NM2255 had the opportunity to ride on the passenger seat of a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Car (WRC) Edition.

The footage with the world's fastest convertible was taken near Porto Cervo, Italy and we get to hear the loud noise coming from the massive W16 quad-turbo 7.9-liter engine which unleashes 1,200 HP (882 kW) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque. The engine is mated to a dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox which allows the supercar to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in only 2.6 seconds.

Bugatti built only eight units of this model which had a starting price (before taxes) of 1.99M EUR. The car seen in this video is actually the one which established the world record for the fastest convertible, managing to reach a top speed of 254.04 mph (408.84 km/h) at VW's Ehra-Lessien proving grounds with Chinese racing driver Anthony Liu behind the wheel.
