2015 Opel / Vauxhall Adam S packs 150 PS [video]

Opel and Vauxhall have unveiled the Adam S at the Paris Motor Show.

Previewed by the Adam S concept, the production model has a familiar design but is distinguished by a front lip spoiler, aerodynamic side skirts and a sportier rear wing. The car also has LED daytime running lights, red brake calipers and 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels.

The cabin largely carries over but there are three new seating options including Recaro Performance seats with Morrocana or nappa leather upholstery. The Adam S also has special floor mats and an IntelliLink infotainment system with a seven-inch display, Bluetooth connectivity and Siri Eyes Free compatibility.

A turbocharged 1.4-liter engine resides under the hood and produces 150 PS (110 kW) and 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the hatchback to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed in excess of 200 km/h (124 mph). The engine has also been equipped with a start/stop system which enables it to return 6.4 L/100km (36.7 mpg US / 44.1 mpg UK).

Speaking of performance, the Adam S features a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance brakes and a retuned steering system.

The Adam S will be available for order in November and the first deliveries are scheduled for 2015.
