Ford S-MAX Concept revealed

Ford S-MAX Concept revealed

Ford will be showcasing at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show a concept previewing the second generation of the S-MAX.
The first-gen S-MAX went on sale back in 2006 so time has come for an all-new model which will be released sometime next year. This concept gives us a glimpse on what to expect from the people-carrier once it will reach Ford dealerships. Just like the new Fusion and facelifted Fiesta, the S-MAX Concept features the Aston Martin-ish front grille, along with a steeply raked windscreen, a curved roof line, muscular fenders, large multi-spoke alloys, metallic accents and a roof-mounted spoiler.
The cabin features four seats and a fifth center-rear seat which can be folded into the floor to create a roomier interior. It comes with what Ford calls an "ultra-soft" leather wrap on the instrument panel, along with carbon fiber-like and leather details on the seats. The concept also boasts a new iteration of the Ford Sync system that can monitor the health of those inside through glucose and heart-rate sensors installed within the seats.
Under the hood it has the new 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine which will debut on the 2014 Fusion where it outputs 178 bhp (133 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque.
