The Paris Motor Show continues as Hyundai has taken the wraps off the new i20.
Looking instantly recognizable, the model adopts an evolutionary exterior with a Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design. The changes are relatively modest but include a more upright front fascia with a hexagonal grille that is flanked by LED-infused headlights. The hatchback also has an upward sweeping shoulder line and gloss- black C-pillars which will likely provoke love or hate it reactions.
The interior is less controversial as it features a clean design and higher quality materials. Hyundai declined to go into specifics but the model boasts a color-coordinated dashboard, piano black accents and metallic trim. There's also an asymmetric dashboard which is angled five degrees towards the driver to improve access to key controls. Options include leather upholstery, a panoramic glass sunroof and an infotainment system with a seven-inch display and GPS navigation.
Under the hood a variety of engines will be available including:
- A 1.25-liter four-cylinder petrol with outputs of 75 PS (55 kW) and 84 PS (62 kW)
- A 1.4-liter four-cylinder petrol with 100 PS (74 kW) and 134 Nm (99 lb-ft) of torque
- A 1.1-liter diesel with 75 PS (55 kW) and 180 Nm (134 lb-ft) of torque
- A 1.4-liter diesel with 90 PS (66 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque
