Volkswagen Golf Alltrack displays its rugged looks in Paris

The Volkswagen Golf Alltrack has made its world public debut at the Paris Motor Show today.
Based on the Golf Variant, the rugged Alltrack has received a +20mm increased ride height and benefits from black plastic body cladding together with chunkier wheels and aluminum protection plates. Volkswagen is describing the model as being a crossover between an estate and an SUV as it brings the best of both worlds, practicality mixed up with a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system with Haldex coupling.
In terms of motorization, customers will be able to opt for a 1.8 TSI rated at 180 HP & 280 Nm along with three diesel engines: 1.6 TDI with 110 HP & 250 Nm, 2.0 TDI with 150 HP & 340 Nm and 2.0 TDI with 184 HP & 380 Nm.
The high-riding wagon also benefits from an electronic differential lock built into the ESC electronic stability control system and acts as a differential lock at both axles. There’s also an XDS system optimizing steering response by braking the wheels on the inside of a bend during fast-pace driving.
Volkswagen has previously announced deliveries of the Golf Alltrack are scheduled to begin next summer.
