2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour show their funky design in Paris

The 2015 Smart ForTwo and ForFour have received their world premiere at the Paris Motor Show.

Both of them are sharing the same platform with the all-new Renault Twingo from where the duo will source the two available engines. First up is a naturally aspirated three-cylinder 1.0-liter producing 71 HP & 91 Nm while the other is a turbocharged 0.9-liter generating 90 HP & 135 Nm. Several months from now, the cars will also be available with a base 60 HP version of the naturally-aspirated engine, with all power units working with either a five-speed manual or an optional six-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

In terms of dimensions, the petite ForTwo is 2.69 meters long, 1.66 meters wide and 1.55 mm tall with an 1873mm wheelbase whereas the larger ForTwo is 3.49 meters long and has a 2494mm wheelbase. As standard, the cars will be offered with cruise control, keyless entry, LCD display in the instrument cluster along with an external temperature gauge. Moving on to more expensive versions will reward buyers with a JBL sound system, heated seats and a multi-function steering wheel.

Sales of the new Smart ForTwo and ForFour will begin in November at just about the same prices as the outgoing model, with the larger ForFour set to be €600 more expensive than the ForTwo. Joining the range sometime next year will be a more powerful Brabus version rumored to pack as much as 120 HP (88 kW).
