Facelifted Mazda CX-5 spied up close
Do you like this story?
The Mazda CX-5 facelift has returned in a fresh batch of spy photos showing the stylish crossover is about to receive a minor nip and tuck.
The CX-5 was originally introduced in European specification back in September 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show so it makes sense Mazda is preparing a facelift for the attractive crossover which is an evolution of the Minagi concept. The KODO design language will be mildly revised for the CX-5 as it seems changes will be limited to headlights, taillights, grille and front bumper.
Engine options will likely be carried over so the Euro-spec CX-5 will continue with a 165 PS 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G and a 150 PS 2.2-liter SKYACTIV-D diesel available in both FWD and AWD versions and six-speed manual & automatic gearboxes.
The US-spec model is offered with 155 PS 2.0-liter and 184 PS 2.5-liter gasoline engines with FWD or AWD, with the latter available mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode.
A possible debut could occur as early as the second half of November at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
