Geely GC9 photographed in the metal
Do you like this story?
Geely's GC9 flagship model has been photographed in China without any camouflage.
Earlier this week Geely published teaser images of their range-topping GC9 model and now a pre-production unit has been spotted revealing the entire design. While the teaser images looked promising, the real deal looks toned down but overall it's a nice effort for a Chinese automaker. In charge of the vehicle's styling was former Volvo designer Peter Horbury who is now responsible for Geely's styling department.
The GC9 is actually a production version of the KC concept from 2013 and the car spotted here had a newly developed V6 3.5-liter engine of yet undisclosed output. This is a China-spec model where it will be sold under the Emgrand sub-brand while in other markets it will be commercialized as a Geely.
The Geely/Emgrand GC9 will be officially unveiled on November 20 during the Guangzhou Auto Show in China, prior to going on sale early 2015.
