Honda Civic Type R concept powers into Paris with at least 280 HP

Honda has unveiled today at Paris Motor Show an updated variant of the near-production Civic Type R concept.

Until next year's final product, we can feast our eyes on an updated concept of the Honda Civic Type R which features a very aggressive body kit with muscular wheel arches, large side skirts and a big diffuser. It also packs a quad exhaust arrangement and has a spectacular rear wing incorporating the taillights and the third brake light.

Honda is aiming to take down the front-wheel drive record on the Nürburgring and promises the 2015 Civic Type R will be better than the legendary NSX and is going to offer a "sensational driving experience." It will have a four-cylinder 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine revving up to 7,000 rpm and delivering more than 280 HP (206 kW). Honda's engineers will be fixing any potential torque steer issues by implementing a "steer axis" system granting improved traction while the front suspension will receive two additional supporting "kingpins."

Moreover, the 2015 Honda Civic Type R is going to come with a newly developed four-point Adaptive Damper System that will automatically adjust front & rear suspension damping force stiffness "in a split second" depending on the driving conditions.

A full reveal will likely occur in March 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show.
